Here just so you get an idea about the light and shadow on the composition. the female figure raises her hand to block a light source which could be a spotlight signifying that they have been discovered and captured or she is blocking the rising sun..

Let me know which one works best for you. I am ready to bring in models to work on the final compositional drawing based on whichever grouping of the figures you prefer. As I mentioned I am very satisfied with 7 and 8. 

I will be picking real life models that help me convey the full story of the painting. I tend to use people as models who are "common everyday" types and tend to stay away from overly beautiful idealized models. I believe that by following this approach it lends to the artwork a very realistic contemporary feel to the painting. I intend to use as the woman sleeping someone who might be slightly but noticeably overweight. I believe its important to show this common characteristic which is prevalent in todays society.
